Games may be played in light rain. However, in the event of dangerous situations such as lightning, hail, tornados, excessive wind, blowing debris, etc, games will be cancelled immediately. In addition, games may be called off should conditions become dangerous in nature. These conditions will include playing games in temperatures colder than 30 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer than 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Game times are all mutually exclusive. For example, if a game scheduled to kick off at 1:00 pm is cancelled due to the qualifying factors indicated above and the weather clears at 2:15pm, the 2:00 pm game will be cancelled also. However, the 3:00 pm game will remain scheduled and played under the discretion of the team coaches, club representatives and the assigned referee as indicated by the league. In the event inclement weather conditions become apparent during the course of a game, the referee, along with the staff coach for the teams involved will instruct the players and spectators to immediately vacate facility. Should this event occur after the first half has been completed, the match shall be considered complete and the remaining portion of the game cancelled. Should this event occur during the first half, the match shall be re-scheduled by the league at a date, time, and location to be determined by the league coordinator. If conditions are such that immediate shelter is required, there are nearby options available. Kirkwood College has a facility a couple of blocks away and they normally have the doors to their student hall open during normal hours of the ICCR Soccer League games. In addition, there are several local restaurants along Kirkwood Blvd that can provide shelter. If at any time or for any reason you consider the conditions to become unsafe for your own child, please confer with your team representative and request that your child be removed from the game. The referees have been instructed to adhere to this process. If evacuation procedures are administered and you find that a participant (player, referee, etc) has been stranded, please take reasonable measures to help them to safety. Should you have any questions or desire information regarding current local conditions or game status, you can call Bill Ajram at 319-361-2551. |
